Knolle Farm and Ranch Bed Barn and Breakfast
Imagine yourself eagerly anticipating the joy of a good Texas hunting trip. As morning breaks slowly - cold, crisp and clear, the sun gently rises over the oaks and the early light pierces the fog. Mother Nature awakens; the deer move gently toward the rye grass fields or the feeders and the waterfowl lift off their roost. The skies echo with the honking of ducks, geese and sandhill crane as they fly across, surveying the wetlands below.
The Knolle Farm and Ranch is situated in the Nueces River Valley in south TX, surrounded by dense brush, abundant grain fields and numerous flooded wetlands. This unique location and habitat, coupled with a half-century of feeding dairy cattle, results in a tremendous number of dove, duck, geese, turkey, hogs and deer. We offer to our guests the chance to share in well-planned, guided morning hunts or relaxed informal afternoon dove hunts. To make your hunting trip experience complete, we also offer fully-guided quail hunts, complete with trained dogs. Waterfowl hunting takes place on over thousands of acres of cropland and flooded reservoirs and deer hunters have access to 2,500 acres of hunting land, where blinds and feeders are strategically set up to guarantee the safety and the best access to wildlife.
Our waterfowl hunting is renowned, not just because of our position in a major flyway between Lake Corpus Christi and the bay, but because of the lack of pressure on the birds and the ease of hunting here. Our wetlands beckon a variety of migratory birds as they are places where the birds can rest before taking off to a new destination. Our experienced field guides put out a decoy spread and do all processing of birds.
Non-waterfowl hunting can range from a "meat hunt," for doe, spike, hog and turkey, to a full-blown South Texas trophy hunt. Our packages include 4 guided hunts (2 morning and 2 afternoon hunts), plus accommodations. Meals can be added and prices may vary according to kill. Our quail hunts are a South Texas specialty with non-stop excitement for the experienced or novice hunters alike. Hunts can be half-day or full-day, and all include guide, good dogs, and comfortable rigs. You may walk or ride, but be ready for lots of exciting wing-shooting. With our location, we have tremendous habitat for Turkey, roosting in the huge oak trees that surround the Nueces River. Whether it's fall turkey hunting, mixed with a deer or hog hunt, or the Spring season, our guides are accomplished in calling up the "Big Ones", and providing guests with an experience they will never forget.
aIf skeet shooting is your weakness, try our sporting clay course. Situated in the huge oaks on the edge of a waterfowl sanctuary, it is more than your usual skeet range. The trees house remote-controlled throwers that allow year-round practice and the natural environment presents a unique set of challenges for the novice or the advanced shooter. This clay course provides a great day activity for parties and get togethers.
