Mesquite Country Outfitters
Mesquite Country Outfitters offers fully guided hunts for wild Bobwhite quail, whitetail deer, mule deer, turkey, dove, wild hogs, and varmints on the 165,000 acre Pitchfork Ranch in Dickens and King counties of the Rolling Plains of Texas. The Pitchfork Ranch is a working cattle ranch with terrain including mesquite pastures, scrub oak thickets, rugged canyon and cedar country, and a few crop fields and food plots. Lodging and meals are provided on location for most hunts. The ranch holds good numbers of mature whitetail bucks and a few mule deer. The quail, turkey, and dove populations in this area are outstanding. Wild hogs and varmints are abundant on the 257 square miles of hunting territory. All game animals are 100% wild. No high fences or pen-raised critters here!!
The Pitchfork Ranch is located in Dickens and King counties approximately 75 miles east of Lubbock, Texas. The headquarters is approximately 17 miles east of Dickens, Texas on the south side of US82.

The Pitchfork Ranch is located in Dickens and King counties approximately 75 miles east of Lubbock, Texas. The headquarters is approximately 17 miles east of Dickens, Texas on the south side of US82. The map shown indicates the ranch road travel route necessary to reach the lodge from four different routes:
- Coming from Dickens past the headquarters on US82 turning north on CR111. Do NOT use this route if muddy conditions are present. It is approximately 3.5 miles from the ranch headquarters to the left-hand turn on CR111 off of US82 and another 11 miles to the hunting lodge.
- Coming from Guthrie turning north on CR113. Do NOT use this route if muddy conditions are present. It is approximately 5.3 miles from Guthrie, Texas to the right-hand turn on CR113 off of US82 and another 12 miles to the hunting lodge.
- Coming from Dumont on FM193 and turning south on CR109. Best route from Dickens if muddy conditions are present. It is approximately 2.2 miles from Dumont, Texas to the right-hand turn off of FM193 onto CR109 and another 3 miles to the hunting lodge. Please stay left of Scott Camp. It is not part of the Pitchfork Ranch.
- Coming from US83/FM193 intersection on FM193 and turning south on CR109. Best route from Guthrie or Paducah, Texas if muddy conditions are present. It is approximately 11.4 miles on US83 from Guthrie, Texas to the intersection of US83 and FM193. It is approximately 8.3 miles from the intersection of US83 and FM193 to the left-hand turn off of FM193 onto CR109 and another 3 miles to the hunting lodge. Please stay left of Scott Camp. It is not part of the Pitchfork Ranch.
For routes 1 and 2 there are signs on US82 indicating the county (dirt/gravel) roads leading to the Farm Camp. The county roads CR113 and CR111 intersect at the Farm Camp. Take CR111 to the Red Steel Gate that is approximately 3.5 miles north of the Farm Camp at the intersection of CR111 and CR109. There are small green signs at the Farm Camp and Red Steel Gate indicating the route to the lodge. Do NOT use either of these routes if muddy conditions are present.
For routes 3 and 4 there is a small green sign on FM193 labeled Scott Camp. The CR109 road marker is also located on FM193. Please use one of these routes if muddy conditions are present. Please stay left of Scott Camp. It is not part of the Pitchfork Ranch.
