- 6 lbs. ham
- 1/2 c. whole cloves
- 1/4 c. light corn syrup
- 1 1/4 c. pure honey
- 3/4 c. butter or margarine
- 1/4 c. dijon mustard
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Score the ham and push the cloves into the scored lines. In a small sauce pan mix the honey, corn syrup, butter, and dijon until thoroughly blended. Heat mixture over medium-low heat. Be extra careful not to burn the ingredients, as it can spoil the honey. Place the ham into a baking dish and baste with the honey glaze. Place ham in the oven and bake for 50 minutes or until the center of ham reaches 180 degrees, brushing the glaze on every 10 minutes. Remove ham from the oven and reglaze the entire ham. Return to oven and cook for more 7 minutes.
Tip:
If you line the baking dish with aluminum foil before you place the ham in it then clean up will be easier.
