Couse Deer PDF Print E-mail
A Couse Deer is a sub-species of the whitetail deer found exclusively in the southwest, mainly Arizona, New Mexico and Northern Mexico.  Couse deer live in high desert mountain ranges above 3500 feet.  Couse deer look very similar to whitetail deer except smaller.   A mature buck will weight around 140 pounds and stand up to 3 feet at the shoulder as opposed to a whitetail which can weigh in upwards of 200 + pounds.  Couses are very elusive, extremely camouflaged in their surrounds and are very challenging to hunt.
