We offer complete Guide and Outfitter services for the finest in West Texas hunting for Wild Texas Bobwhite Quail, Ducks, Dove, Wild boar and more.

At WildRose we provide Guided hunts for Quail, Duck, Dove, Goose, Wild Boar, Wild Turkey and more with a personal touch.

We are not the typical type of hunting outfit you will find in South Texas.  No banging all over pastures chasing runaway dogs from jeeps and trucks.  For our upland (quail hunts) hunts we provide comfortable  four door, four wheel drive one ton trucks to get us from place to place and hunt exclusively behind our World Class German Shorthaired Pointing dogs.

NOTE!!!  Unlike many Outfitters we understand that many of our clients have dogs of their own and love to work behind them, so you are encouraged to bring your own dogs to hunt along with ours.

Our Water fowling primarily consists of "jump shooting" over small ponds, or "tanks" as they are called in Texas usually under one acre in size.  We also hunt them from blinds camouflaged in grain fields or on these same small tanks.  Each method provides excellent shooting opportunities for over 25 different species of Duck.

Location

The operation is centered in the Baylor and Throckmorton counties in West Texas, a comfortable two and a half to three hour drive from DFW International Airport, and we have facilities for private aircraft capable of even accommodating the small corporate jets, with runways of four thousand plus feet locally as well.

We have access to ranches in seven different counties, covering an area from Abilene, to Childress, to Jacksboro, to Wichita Falls giving us flexibility and near endless opportunity in spite of the unpredictability's of weather, or game movements and population shifts.

This area of West Texas has for years and continues to be the heart of Bobwhite Quail country in the state, and over the last ten years while Bobwhite Quail populations have indeed seen broad swings we have managed well and even on our worst years have averaged over ten Coveys of Bobwhite Quail per hunt day.

Along with Bobwhite Quail hunting we offer hunts for Mourning Dove, Duck (seeing as many as 17 different species over the course of a day) including; Mallard, Pintail, Canvasback, Gadwall, Ring neck, Blue Bill, Golden Eye, Bufflehead, Teal (all three species), Red head, Widgeon, Mergansers, Hooded Mergansers, Spoonbills, et. al...  even the odd Wood duck.

For an idea of what to expect from a typical mixed bag hunt we begin the day with a hearty breakfast, we then begin with blind hunting for ducks at dawn, then hunting quail from around eight thirty until noon. After breaking for lunch, and often a bit of a nap to be followed by jump shooting for ducks until around two to three pm.  Our hunting day concludes with a full slate of quail hunting until sundown.
