Our ranch is a family operation which we have just recently opened up to outside deer hunting. Our goal is to produce quality whitetail deer and provide a truly memorable hunting experience. We only book a limited number of hunts per season and we are very serious about not "over hunting". We do not run hunters through like cattle down a chute. Furthermore, when you book a hunt with us you will be the only one hunting while you are here. Our goal really is quality and not just quantity.
We are located in the scenic Texas Hill Country in the heart of some of the best whitetail deer habitat available. Please see ABOUT THE RANCH for much more information about this ranch and some of the basic management principles that we believe in.
This ranch has been intensively managed for whitetail deer since 1996 and the results are obvious. The improvements in quality have been remarkable given this relatively short period of time. We will however resist the temptation to book trophy hunts for at least another year (2006 season at the earliest). We know that there are several bucks on the ranch that will score in the 150's to 170. However, we are in this business for the long term and feel that it is much more important for these 12 to 16 point bucks to remain on the ranch at least another year to do as much breeding as possible. We want to ensure that these genetics have been passed on to as many offspring as possible.
However, we do have several mature 8+ point bucks that do not meet our criteria for the superior trophies that we will begin offering in a few years. These bucks are mature deer that have either reached or passed their genetic potential. These deer are mature bucks and will be trophies that any hunter will be proud to harvest. Do not confuse these "Management Bucks" with cull bucks. We do not market culls. We take care of them our self. The terms management and cull are not interchangeable. Keep in mind that our standards are higher than most, therefore our management deer will be better than most.
